Can you use Epidemic Sound after your subscription ends?

No, you can’t use Epidemic Sound in your new videos after the subscription ends. You will not lose monetization on the music you used before the Epidemic Sound subscription was canceled, but if you use the music that you downloaded before your subscription ended in new videos they will be claimed & demonetized.

The official Epidemic Sound Website states that all videos, podcast episodes, and/or any other types of content that have been published during an active Epidemic Sounds subscription will stay cleared to monetize forever. But if you use Epidemic Sound music in videos published after you’ve ended your subscription, Epidemic Sound will de-monetize them. You can reactivate your subscription at any time to continue using their music claim free.

What does Reddit think about Epidemic Sound?

I looked at various subreddits and and here’s how people on Reddit review Epidemic Sound:

Personal Vs. Commercial plans

Epidemic Sound Pricing Plans

There are 2 plans that I would recommend going with – Personal and Commercial.

The personal plan is best for YouTubers and other content creators alike.

The commercial plan is best for businesses.

The main difference between the two plans is that the commercial plan allows you to license audio not only for yourself but also to cover your client or business. It also lets you use SFX and music in digital ads and monetize up to 3 channels per platform.

There’s also a Starter plan but it only lets you download 5 tracks per month which is less than enough for a YouTuber or video editor that created videos on the regular. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Epidemic Sound top features

This is the list of best Epidemic Sound features.

1. Massive library of songs and SFX

One of the standout features of Epidemic Sound is the exceptional quality of its audio content. All tracks are professionally curated, composed, and produced by a team of skilled musicians and sound designers around the world. This ensures that the music and sound effects in it’s library are of premium quality, guaranteeing a polished and professional touch to your content.

2. Great filtering options

Another great feature is the filtering option.

Epidemic Sound has a user-friendly interface and powerful search functionality.

The search bar allows you to easily find the track or sound effect for your video by filtering results based on mood, genre, tempo, and more.

This makes the process of finding the right audio asset for your video quick and efficient, saving you valuable time in the editing process.

3. Licensing Model

Another significant advantage of Epidemic Sound is its royalty-free licensing model.

Once you subscribe to Epidemic Sound, you gain access to a vast library of music and SFX that are cleared for use in YouTube videos and other types of social media content, without any additional fees or concerns about copyright infringement.

This makes Epidemic Sound a convenient and cost-effective solution for video editors and content creators who need easy access to high-quality audio assets frequently.

4. Unlimited Downloads

Epidemic Sound is the best value for money when it comes to having access to high-quality audio assets.

You get unlimited downloads for a fixed monthly fee.

5. Ability to download individual parts Of Every Song separately

One of the best things that I love about Epidemic Sound is that if you don’t like a certain part of a song, like vocals, or drums, you can choose to exclude it.

Epidemic Sound allows you to download individual parts of songs separately.

You can download these song components by themselves: the melody, instruments, bass, and drums.

6. Ability to create favorites and playlists

If you’re a video editor then you probably have a large library of music tracks and sound effects that you use depending on the project that you’re working on.

Epidemic Sound makes it easy to organize your favourite tracks within playlists so that the next time you need a specific audio to add to your timeline you’ll know where to find it.

Cons of Epidemic Sound

Of course, there are also a few drawbacks of Epidemic Sound.

1. You cannot use old tracks that you downloaded on new videos if you cancel your subscription

If you cancel your Epidemic Sound subscription you will not be able to use the audio tracks that you downloaded before your subscription ended in new videos.

With that said, your old YouTube videos with tracks that you have used in the past, while your subscription was still active, will remain monetized.

2. No reminders for transactions

While reading Epidemic Sound reviews on Trustpilot I noticed that a few people unknowingly got charged for a subscription. While this only seems to have happened only in a few rare cases and from what I’ve read the support is usually friendly to resolve the issues, it’s still something to keep in mind if you start using their service.
